Wedding anniversary Checklist: The Glam team arrives at 9 a.m., photographer at 10 a.m., flowers at 11 a.m….what are you forgetting? Eat! Some brides forget to eat and others avoid it for fear of bloating, but the truth is that the key to having the best day is to use food as fuel and eat often.

Breakfast is always the most important meal of the day

No one likes a “Hangry” bride: do yourself a favor and eat a light breakfast. “With all the excitement and emotion of the day, you have to start with breakfast to keep them going and shining,” Colley says. She suggests peanut butter toast with a side of fruit, Greek yogurt with cereal, or a small whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese.

The proposals of Justice include a combination of protein and fiber. “An ideal breakfast for brides on their wedding day involves the combination of protein and fiber. Some examples are whole wheat toast with scrambled eggs, boiled eggs with fruit or Greek yogurt with fruit and cereal,” she shares.

Eat often with a light lunch and snacks

It may seem impossible, but there is a good chance that you will forget to eat. “Eat, when you can!”Colley said. “There is so much going on on your wedding day and there are so many people you can visit that you might not have much to eat.”

Swallow lightly

It’s your day, so don’t hold back to enjoy a few drinks with your guests. On the other hand, it could lead to dehydration, which is the last thing you want.

Justice shares some alcohol-related tips for us to keep in mind on the big day. “Some things to consider are how much you drink and your tolerance. You don’t want to miss the important parts of your big day because you were tipsy before/during the ceremony,” says Justice.

“The biggest tip, if you want to drink, play it safe, drink water and eat between drinks. Alcohol can dehydrate you, so it is very important to constantly drink water with the alcoholic beverage of your choice. Dehydration can cause dizziness, headache, red skin, fatigue and weakness.

If they are worried about it, it is better for them to refrain from drinking alcohol until the evening so that they can be fully present on their wedding day,” she explains.

You eat with Your Guests

A good rule: every time your guests eat, they should eat. “Even a few bites can help dance the night away,” Colley says. During your cocktail hour, ask a friend or a bridal assistant to grab a mix of appetizers to snack on while you’re wearing your dress or mixing. After the ceremony, try a reception line to sit down and enjoy your dinner with your new husband.
