When it comes to weddings, renting is a common practice; it is an effective way for couples to save money on big prices. They have rental of outfits like tuxedos and dresses, rental of decor like linens and chairs, and some couples even rent full-fledged inflatables for their big day. A category that people often do not associate with renting? Accessories – which means not found a great opportunity to reduce costs even more.

Do you need a little persuasion to get on board? We consulted experts Brittany Finkle and Lauren Grunstein to disassemble the basics of renting wedding accessories.

Why Rent Instead Of Buy ?

The first (and most obvious) advantage of renting accessories is to save money. “The rental simply makes sense for items such as veils, headgear, belts or jewelry that will not be useful in your wardrobe for years,” explains Finkle. “No, your future daughter will not want it (she will turn yellow, no matter how you keep her), and selling sails is not the easiest undertaking.”

The second advantage of renting accessories is that it is environmentally friendly. “Buying unique clothes is a waste, but if you also buy them abroad, you increase CO2 emissions to get a 20 you junky helmet that you can only wear once,” Finkle continues. “By praising, you reduce the waste that contributes to the landfill of disposable items. Take the photo, capture the memory and send it back.”

What accessories to rent

The answer is really, everything! The possibilities are endless when it comes to accessorizing your wedding day look, and renting just gives you more ways to have fun with your bridal style.

Jewelry: Whether you want to wear real diamonds or play with costumed trinkets, renting your jewelry on your wedding day is a great alternative to investing in expensive coins that may not fit your budget.
Veil: Your veil is the wedding accessory that you have probably dreamed of all your life. What you probably didn’t dream about is the often surprising price. Since you are likely to wear it only for the ceremony and portraits, your veil is an accessory worth praising.

Hair accessories: from hairpins and headbands to tiaras and clips, hair accessories are the icing on the cake. You can add a touch of detail, emphasize your veil or even take your beauty look from one wedding stage to the next.
Mother of the newlyweds: renting is not just an option for the bride. Let mom have fun and let her scroll through the items that she can style with her outfit. After all, she will have many moments to shine throughout the event.
Bridesmaids: Being a bridesmaid is an investment in itself, and your wedding celebration will appreciate any opportunity to keep to the budget. It’s also an easy way to take your bridesmaids from head to toe (if you like).

Tips for renting accessories

Try before you buy “.”

“Try different accessories at your wedding dress dates or accessories to see what kind of veil, hair accessories and jewelry you like,” explains Finkle. “Once you have an idea of what you like, take a look at the online inventory to see what types of accessories you can borrow that are similar.”Grunstein agrees: “If you’ve never worn a big earring in your life, your wedding day is probably not the best day to start,” she says. “Just like a dress, it’s important to try out the pieces, especially the earrings. We encourage our brides to try as much as possible to make sure they find the perfect piece.”

Do not worry about correspondence.

“There’s only one rule of thumb here: if your dress is bright white, you can only go with a bright white veil,” explains Finkle. “If you combine it with something darker, it becomes boring or dirty. Most of the dresses are different shades of light ivory and ivory and because the veils are such a thin and translucent tulle fabric, most fit perfectly with any ivory color.”

Talk to your hairdresser.

Do not fall in love with a bridal hair accessory without first talking to your hairdresser. You can fall in love with a piece, but if you have visions of wearing your hair down and the hairpin you have chosen does not work with your hairstyle, it is best not to discover it on your big day.

Consider several accessories throughout the day.

“Changing your accessories for the big day can be a fun way to get a different look — and it’s worth it if you’re renting,” says Finkle. “For your ceremony, add a veil for the bottom of the aisle, and maybe simple jewelry or a belt. When you pass by the reception, place a statement piece like a large tiara or a glittering headband.”

Do not leave it until the last minute.

Most bridal boutiques take at least six to eight weeks to order accessories, but choosing your accessories at least a month before the wedding date is the preferred deadline.
